Salto de línea Education Information Networks are strategic mechanisms to improve knowledge and understanding of educational systems. They are useful in the design of educational policies, decision-making and the monitoring of educational objectives thanks to the collection, analysis, exchange and dissemination of official, reliable and comparable information.
In Eurydice Spain - rediE, two information networks converge: the European Eurydice and the Spanish rediE.
Eurydice supports European cooperation. It was created in 1980 by the European Commission. Since then, it has been used to exchange descriptive information on the organization and operation of educational systems and national policies on education.
rediE operates as a territorial cooperation mechanism at the service of the State educational administrations with the same purpose as Eurydice. It was created in 2010 by the Ministry of Education, which already had the Spanish Eurydice Unit for many years.
Among the functions assigned to the General Directorate of Evaluation and Territorial Cooperation, the management of information and documentation networks on educational systems falls to the National Institute of Educational Evaluation, according to article 3.2.c of Royal Decree 498/2020, of April 28, which develops the basic organic structure of the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training.
