Summer courses in Spain

The External Educational Action Office of the Ministry of Education, Vocational Training and Sports annually announces grants for foreign teachers of Spanish working outside Spain to participate in summer courses organized in collaboration with UNED (National University of Distance Education) and UIMP (International University Menéndez Pelayo).

  • Duration and development of the courses: 30 teaching hours in July/first half of August.
  • Variable number of places per course.
  • Who can participate: The programme is aimed at foreign teachers of Spanish or other subjects in Spanish working in Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Iceland, Finland, Norway and other countries.Salto de línea *Although priority is given to active teachers teaching in primary and secondary education, university teachers, graduates, or final-year students of Hispanic Philology or equivalent who intend to dedicate themselves to teaching Spanish as a foreign language can also participate..
  • When to apply for the courses: In April-May.
  • How to apply for the courses: All application procedures for the courses are online through Profex.

Who Cannot Participate in the Courses

- Teachers who have participated in a training course organized by the External Educational Action Office in any of its modalities (summer courses in Spain, courses in the countries of origin, online courses) in the previous three years.

- Active teachers appointed, hired, or selected through a public call by the MEFPD or by any other Spanish institution or agency.

- Teachers holding Spanish nationality.

The grants cover:

  • Enrollment.
  • Accommodation and meals.
  • Participation in the activitz program.

The scholarships do NOT cover the costs of:

  • Round-trip travel
  • Travel insurance
  • Health insurance

Application Submission Deadline: Closed (April 10 to April 24, 2024).
