Learning at the Age of 15: Factors that influence the ProcessSalto de línea Salto de línea This report deals with the necessity of approaching Secondary Education problems from a different and complex perspective. First of all, those PISA results causing concern and controversy in certain countries and which are not at the top ranking are analysed. On the other hand, restrictions in written tests are also discussed. Second, it highlights the information we know currently about the way or ways of learning as well as the influence of the social and family environment, school ethos and teaching staff on the ways, expectations and inclination of teenagers to learn. The report concludes suggesting Secondary Education schools to provide students with appealing educational projects. Likewise, it also raises several questions which can be of any help in order to analyse the characteristics of the environment in which teenagers try to develop their own identity.

Este artículo plantea la necesidad de acercarse a las problemáticas de la enseñanza secundaria con una nueva mirada y de forma compleja. En primer lugar se analiza por qué los resultados del estudio PISA levantan olas de preocupación y controversia en los países que no aparecen en los primeros puestos de la lista, a la vez que se discute las limitaciones de las pruebas de papel y lápiz. En segundo lugar pone en consideración lo que hoy sabemos sobre cómo se aprende, así como la influencia que el entorno familiar y social, la cultura de la escuela y el profesorado tienen en las formas, expectativas y predisposición de los adolescentes para aprender. El artículo termina invitando a los centros de secundaria a proponer a los estudiantes proyectos educativos apasionantes y con algunas preguntas nos pueden ayudar a dar cuenta de las características del contexto en el que los adolescentes de hoy construyen su identidad como hombres y mujeres.
