LOS ANGELES SPANISH RESOURCE CENTER

Los Angeles Spanish Resource Center was opened in 1990 after signing a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Education of Spain and Rossier School of Education at University of Southern California (USC).

In 2015 Los Angeles Resource Center changes its location to Hollywood High School after the signing of an agreement of collaboration between the Mnistry of Education of Spain and Los Angeles Unified School District. Our mission is to promote the Spanish language and the understanding of the different cultures that have this language as their main way of communicating.

MAIN GOALS

• To advance the language and culture of Spain and to encourage areas of collaboration with American and Spanish organizations related to the growth of the Spanish language and culture in California and the United States.

• To provide educational resources in Spanish from our catalog, in consultation or as loans.

• To support and foster bilateral educational agreements through educational outreach programs such as the language assistant programs, both in Spain and in the United States.

• To distribute information pertaining to the educational outreach programs sponsored by the Education Office of the Embassy of Spain.

• To provide professional development activities to educators of Spanish.

EL CER DE LOS ÁNGELES

El Centro español de Recursos (CER) de Los Ángeles se creó en 1990 a través de un Memorando de entendimiento (MOU) entre el Ministerio de Educación de España y el Rossier School of Education de la Universidad del Sur de California (USC).

En el año 2015 el CER de Los Ángeles cambia de ubicación y pasa a estar en el Hollywood High School de Los Ángeles gracias a un acuerdo de colaboración entre el Ministerio de Educación, Cultura y Deporte y Los Angeles Unified School District. Nuestra misión es promover el estudio de la lengua española y el aprecio y entendimiento de las culturas que utilizan este idioma como medio de expresión.

OBJETIVOS

Proporcionar información sobre los programas que oferta la Oficina de Educación y otras instituciones españolas.Salto de línea Colaborar en la formación de profesores de español y en español de la etapa K-12.Salto de línea Proporcionar oportunidades para el desarrollo profesional para profesores de español actuales y futuros.Salto de línea Proveer de materiales a aquellas personas interesadas en el aprendizaje y promoción del español.Salto de línea Establecer un sistema para permitir que las instituciones educativas utilicen estos recursos.Salto de línea Organizar talleres, seminarios y trabajos de grupo relacionados con la enseñanza del español.Salto de línea Promocionar y participar en iniciativas que favorezcan a los estudiantes de diferentes formas.
