Presentación. Atención socioeducativa a los derechos de la primera infancia

Resumen
En primer término el artículo hace un recorrido por los aspectos clave del tema que da título a la monografía: la educación como derecho, la respuesta de los sistemas educativos a la primera infancia, y las implicaciones sociales y educativas de la atención a esta etapa. Nos detenemos en la trayectoria de los derechos de la infancia –desde su declaración legal hasta su tratamiento en la actualidad– así como en la implicación de los principales agentes intervinientes en la educación y protección infantil. Finalmente, se plantea la situación de especial vulnerabilidad de la infancia desfavorecida y la privación de sus derechos.Asimismo, se presentan los resultados de un estudio realizado a través de entrevistas en profundidad a profesionales vinculados a la práctica de la atención socioeducativa. Al final, presentamos las aportaciones de los autores participantes en este monográfico sobre el derecho de los niños y niñas a la protección y la educación desde su nacimiento,todos ellos expertos en distintas facetas del tema y representantes de diversas instituciones, regiones o países.

Abstract
Presentation. Sociocultural attention to the rights of early childhoodSalto de línea Salto de línea First of all,we attempt to give a survey of the state of the art: childhood, children’s rights and socio-educational implications.We spend some time reviewing the history of children’s rights, from the legal declaration of children’s rights to their current treatment, and examining the involvement of the main parties to socio-educational childcare. Next, we reflect upon needy children and aspects stemming from the violation of children’s rights.We have completed our reflection by conducting a series of in-depth interviews with professionals who have practical links to the realm of socio-educational childcare at its different levels.Salto de línea Lastly, we shall justify the contributions of the participating authors, who are experts on the subject and represent diverse institutions, regions and countries. In the context of -children’s rights-, considering the multiplicity of environments from whose standpoint the subject of children’s rights may be approached,the different socio-educational aspects pertaining to each environment are analyzed, in both the relationship with the child and the relationship with the child’s educators or childhood professionals.There are different postures and focuses -reflections, essays and research- but they all coincide on one common point, socio-educational childcare.
